Hi parents!
I want to let you know how excited I am to start another year of teaching! I get the opportunity to meet new smiling faces and for the first time welcome back returning Quest students. Thank you for entrusing me to be a part of your child's gifted learning experience and helping them reach their gifted education goals. I hope to make this school year one of your child's most memorable ones.
Once a day-each week- for five hours your child will receive gifted services. The district's gifted program goal is designed to respond to the diverse needs of students by providing differentiated curriculum and instruction of significant depth and complexity using the following gifted outcomes: Thinking Skills, Creativity, Information Literacy, Success Skills, Affective Skills, and Communiation Skills.
At the beginning of the year, student interest surveys, learning style inventories, and personality tests are administered so that I can learn more about your child. I also give out parent questionnaires so that I can learn about any special interests or talents your child may have along with any extra-curricular activities they like to participate in.
The data is also used to design units, make modificiations/adaptations within lessons, and to explore the various interests of students throughout the school year.
As the school year progresses, you can periodically check my website for photos of team challenges, field trips, and special projects/activities students would like to share.
I will send out a monthly newsletter that keeps you aware of "What's Going on in Quest?". I'm looking forward to another great year! If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to reasch out to me.
