The Pearl Public School District Special Services Department offers a continuum of services for students with special needs, ranging from students with disabilities to intellectually gifted students.
The purpose of the Special Services Department is to provide a free, appropriate public education to students with disabilities, ages 3-20, who are in need of special education in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA 2004) and the Mississippi Department of Education. The PPSD Special Services Department participates in child find efforts to identify, locate, and evaluate unserved children with disabilities.
