  • With a staff of approximately 575, Pearl Public School District takes pride in its efforts to provide a superior educational experience to a diverse population of nearly 4,200 students. The district has five schools serving students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.  Pearl Lower Elementary also includes an ancillary site, funded through federal Title I funds, for four-year-old, pre-kindergarten students who meet the program criteria.  

     

    A factor that has contributed significantly to the success of the school district is the relationship with the community. Together, students, staff, families, and business/community leaders help each student become a lifelong learner, achieve individual goals, and positively impact a global society.  Everyone in Pearl Schools is driven by the belief that excellence is our standard.

    Certified Positions

    Speech Language Pathologist (Grades K-1 and 6-8): Applicants must hold a valid Class AA MS Educator License with a 215 endorsement.

    Elementary Teacher (2nd grade): Applicants must hold a valid MS Educator License with a 116 or 120 endorsement.

    ELA Teacher (Grade 6): Applicants must hold a valid MS Educator License with a 119 English 7-12 endorsement.

    ELA Teacher (Grade 7): Applicants must hold a valid MS Educator License with a 119 English 7-12 endorsement.

    ELA Teacher (Grade 8): Applicants must hold a valid MS Educator License with a 119 English 7-12 endorsement.

    Math Teacher (Grade 6): Applicants must hold a valid MS Educator License with a 154 Math 7-12 endorsement.

    ELA Teacher (Grade 9-12): Applicants must hold a valid MS Educator License with a 119 English 7-12 endorsement.

    Math Teacher (Grades 9-12): Applicants must hold a valid MS Educator License with a 154 Math 7-12 endorsement.

    Science Teacher (Grades 6-8): Applicants must hold a valid MS Educator License with a 181 or 188 endorsement. 

    Cyber Foundations Teacher (Grades 6-8): Applicants must hold a valid MS Educator License with a 933 endorsement.

    Business Technology (Grades 9-12): Applicants must hold a valid MS Educator License with a 405 and 411 endorsement.

    Special Education Teacher - Inclusion (Grades 6-8): Applicants must hold a 221 Special Education endorsement and have the disposition needed to support the instruction of special needs students in a co-teaching setting.

    Classified Position

    Assistant Teacher (Grades K-1): Applicants must meet ONE of the following requirements:

    1. Hold an associate degree or higher
    2. 48 hours of college credit (C or higher)
    3. High school diploma/GED AND WorkKeys Silver Level certification.

    Assistant Teacher - In School Suspension (Grades 6-8): Applicants must meet ONE of the following requirements:

    1. Hold an associate degree or higher
    2. 48 hours of college credit (C or higher)
    3. High school diploma/GED AND WorkKeys Silver Level certification.

    Custodian (Grades 4-5): Applicants should meet the following qualifications:

    • Have the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
    • Be able to use cleaning equipment and supplies safely.
    • Be able to maintain cooperative relationships with those encountered in the course of work activities.

    Athletics Custodian/General Maintenance Staff (Grades 9-12): Applicants should meet the following qualifications:

    • Have the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
    • Be able to use cleaning equipment and supplies safely.
    • Be able to maintain cooperative relationships with those encountered in the course of work activities.

    Administrative Assistant/MSIS Clerk (PHS): Whose primary duties include MSIS data input and management. Applicants must hold a high school diploma with minimum of associate degree preferred. School administrative experience/MSIS experience is preferred.

     

     
    The Office of Personnel is located at 3375 Highway 80 East, Pearl, Mississippi 39208.  Personnel office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 4:00.
