I grew up in Pearl, and I attended Pearl Schools for both elementary and secondary school.  I graduated from Pearl High School in 1997.  I attended Delta State University and graduated from there in May 2001 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree.  I then taught Middle School/High School Band for 3 years at Madison Middle School and Madison Central High School.  I attended Mississippi College in 2004-2005, and graduated in July 2005 with a Master of Elementary Education degree.  I began teaching 5th grade at Pearl Upper Elementary in 2005 and remained in that position for 13 years.  I'm now in my 6th year as the Librarian at Pearl Upper and my 22nd year of teaching!  I hope to share my love of books and reading with even more students and to foster a love of reading in PUE students.

My husband, Jason, is one of the band directors at Pearl Junior High/Pearl High School.  We have two children, Emma and Austin.
